1. “GIVE 12″ PLANNING COMMITTEE MEMBER

Kids Korps is currently recruiting Adult Mentors to join our “Give 12” Planning Committee and assist with the monthly event planning of our Give 12 projects (sign up for the year-long committee, or help plan the specific monthly projects that thematically match your interests!). YOU will be empowered to prioritize community issues, select recipient agencies, and help plan and implement each monthly event!

Meetings: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month

Where: Starbucks (691 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Suite C, Solana Beach, CA)

2. KIDS KORPS’ TECH ANGEL

If you are tech savvy, have some time on your hands, and are willing to help a great cause – you can be Kids Korps’ Tech Angel!! Looking for someone with technical/computer skills to help volunteer in the Kids Korps office—hours flexible, and our gratitude is boundless!

Example of Tech Support Needed: Computer/Internet Troubleshooting; Software Updates/Installation; Password Reset; Computer Tune-Up’s, etc.

3. HUGS 4 KIDS ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Hugs 4 Kids: Inspired by Julien Hug, Hugs 4 Kids empowers our younger generation to give to themselves, focusing inward to build a strong foundation of self leadership, character, and health and wellness.

4. WEBSITE DESIGNER FOR GREEN KORPS

Green Korps, a program of Kids Korps USA, is a collaborative service learning initiative that engages families in more than 250 environmental volunteer projects a year, including habitat restoration, beach clean-ups, rehabilitation and maintenance programs, while creating safe environments for our community to enjoy, and wildlife to flourish.

We are looking for a Website Designer to help us redesign and re-launch a new Green Korps Website. Our current site is on a WordPress Content Management System: www.greenkorps.org. We are looking to switch the site to a new template, add all new content, graphics, etc., and making it look professional and appealing to current and prospective members.

Skills / Attributes Required

o   Proven Website Management experience (Must be an expert user of WordPress)

o   Strong sense of web design, layout, information architecture, and navigation of web sites and online marketing.

o   Must be extremely knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the web, including HTML, Java Script, web forms, web commerce, and other associated technologies.

o   Experience with electronic design tools, such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, and other graphics tools.

o   Must be able to take ownership, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

o   A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.

o   Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. (Follow-through and double-checking your work).

5. ENVIRONMENTAL “TEAM LEADER” for GREEN KORPS PROGRAM

Green Korps, a program of Kids Korps USA, is a collaborative service learning initiative that engages families in more than 250 environmental volunteer projects a year, including habitat restoration, beach clean-ups, rehabilitation and maintenance programs, while creating safe environments for our community to enjoy, and wildlife to flourish.

We are looking for an Environmental “Team Leader” to connect with local environmental service partner organizations in San Diego, plan and promote “Green” Service Projects for our members (students and their families), and help recruit a Green Korps Youth Action Council (composed of local youth with a passion of becoming environmental stewards), and leading them through a series of leadership opportunities enhancing their ability to become active community change-makers!

Specific Tasks will Include:

  • Connecting and Collaborating with Environmental Service Partners in San Diego County
  • Planning and Promoting “Green” Service Projects with partner agencies, focused on areas such as water preservation, habitat restoration, recycling/waste reduction, and natural resource conservation.
  • Recruiting speakers and educators to present to our community on important environmental issues/initiatives.
  • Helping to Plan & Facilitate a “Green” Summer Volunteer Camp for 1st-6th graders the week of July 16th-20th.
  • Working with Kids Korps Team Members to fulfill Grant Requirements, as they pertain to Green Korps related tasks.
  • Recruiting a Youth Action Council, composed of 8-15 teens, who work to promote awareness and plan community-based environmentally-friendly projects.
  • Maintaining a strong online presence and following through our Green Korps Website and social media with an intention to create more awareness around important environmental issues (local, national, and international) and foster a desire in our members to become champion stewards of the environment! (WordPress—or similar platform, and Social Media experience is a Must!)

This is an exciting opportunity to help share your love of our environment and help inspire the next generation of environmental activists, while collaborating with partner agencies and creating fun and impacting service projects for local families. The position has potential for funding.
