Service Korps: The heart of what we do! Includes Kids Korps (5-11), Teen Korps (12-18), College Korps (19-25) and Leader Korps (Adults-99!) Participants can choose from more than 25 weekly service projects in the following core areas: seniors, environment, food & shelter, heath & disabilities, animals, military, community development, leadership & education. Volunteers learn about community needs, then address those needs through hands-on service projects with 350+ nonprofit agencies.

Green Korps: Participants of all ages develop an awareness and understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship, while providing hands-on volunteer service to local nonprofits focused on “green” initiatives, such as habitat protection & restoration, recycling/waste reduction, natural resource conservation, water preservation, and energy efficiency.

Hugs 4 Kids:  Hugs 4 Kids mission is to ignite healthy inner growth and support the positive identity of young people by engaging youth, families & communities in educational programs, hands-on activities and awareness campaigns.  The vision is for youth to accept themselves and honor their self worth, conquer their fears and challenges, and achieve a sense of purpose empowering their lives. Focus areas include self leadership, character development and health & wellness.

Urban Outreach: Kids Korps is committed to engaging youth of all socio-economic backgrounds, and to that end, has established several community chapters in City Heights. Through their involvement, youth from this diverse and under-resourced neighborhood in San Diego gain a sense of commitment to community development and are empowered to become life-long leaders. Partner Agencies include: Pro Kids Golf Academy, STAR/PALS, Kids at Heart, and Monroe/Clark Middle School.

Civic Leadership: Students 12 – 18 are encouraged to join in specially designed programs “for teens only” (including Teen Korps Leadership Council, Quarterly Teen Task Forces, Teen Leaders for service projects and summer camp, or leading your own Teen Korps Chapter). These programs engage students countywide in needs assessment and the planning and development of service learning programs with our sponsors and community partners.

Camp Volunteer: Each summer, Kids Korps offers young people in 1st– 6th grade an opportunity to volunteer while learning about important community issues through a week-long summer camp. Campers participate in daily hands-on field trips partnering with a local nonprofit organization focused on animals, seniors, homelessness, the environment, hunger, etc. Teen and College volunteers serve as camp counselors, learning the value of mentoring to younger children.

Corporate Korps: Companies such as Barona, Ernst & Young, and LPL Financial have contracted with Kids Korps to add service learning and teambuilding programming to their annual meetings, corporate trainings, employee and family events, seminars and conventions. From Build-A-Bike to food packing, Kids Korps works with companies to customize a service project to the theme, time of year or recipient of choice.
