Give 12 Program Description:
Engaging youth, community members & Starbucks partners in planning & implementing service projects, and addressing the needs of the local community!
Upcoming Projects:
Starbucks Back-to-School Backpack Drive
- Donation drive at Starbucks stores collecting school supplies for children of low-income military families at Miramar Base
- The first planning meeting is Wednesday, June 19th, 4 pm
- Meet at Starbucks west of Lomas Santa Fe, Solana Beach (691 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Ste B)

Theme: Military Appreciation
Volunteers participated in a “stuff-a-thon” event to assemble care packages for children of deployed military personnel (including stuffing teddy bears, making no-sew blankets, creating American Flag pins, and writing a card to the children). Additionally, volunteers colored their own personal quilt squares to be added to special “Blankets of Hope” for injured soldiers.

Theme: Seniors
Volunteers visited the Silverado Senior Center to spend time with senior buddies, play card games, make ice cream sundaes and share love with those who may not get many visitors!

Theme: Food Security for Low-income Families
Give 12 Volunteers partnered with Friends and Family Connection and the Penasquitos Lutheran Church for a successful food distribution event feeding 65 local families!!!

Starbucks Partners Build-a-Bike Volunteer Project at the 20th Anniversary in San Diego Celebration BBQ!
80 Starbucks partners volunteered to build brand new bikes for 20 children from Kids at Heart, a tutoring program, and partner agency of Kids Korps USA!

Theme: Animal Welfare (Shelter Animals–overpopulation)
Volunteers helped spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, along with gathering donations for local shelter animals, and hosting 2 adoption events benefiting SNAP and SD Humane Society, in which 5 dogs were adopted!

Theme: Families
Kids Korps families supported the San Diego Rescue Mission by collecting clothes, blankets, bottles, diapers, and towels for new moms and their babies!

Theme: Health & Wellness
Creative student volunteers decorated hand-made cards for breast cancer survivors and their loved ones, participating in the annual Komen 3-Day Walk in San Diego.

Theme: Food & Shelter
Students spend the afternoon at the Ronald McDonald House of Charities baking delicious cookies, and then engaging families in helping them decorate all the cookies! What a great way to bring some holiday cheer to those dealing with an illness and long-time hospital stay, of a loved one.

Theme: Homelessness & Food Security
85 volunteers joined together at Feeding America San Diego’s warehouse to pack 2,552 BackPack bags for students, sort through 6,015 pounds of Reclamation (the equivalent of about 3,609 meals) recycle 3,225 pounds of food that did not pass the food safety standards, and donat 292 pounds of food for families facing hunger throughout San Diego county!! What a huge impact–thank you to everyone who participated!

Theme: Shelter Animals
Thank you to everyone who supported the Rescue Animal Adoption Event featuring lovable cats and dogs from SNAP! 3 dogs found their forever homes (which allowed 3 additional dogs to be placed in foster care and removed from the euthanasia list!), and 2 huge boxes of donations were collected to support SNAP, its Neuter Scooter, and the animals they care for. Additionally, volunteers helped make 50 new cat toys for the shelters! A special “THANK YOU” to the partners at Starbucks on Loker Avenue in Carlsbad for hosting!

Teen volunteers and Starbucks partners put together a great Valentine’s Day-themed party with crafts and goodies for their senior buddies!
